The Ram Chandra Series (4.75/5★)
The Ram Chandra Series
Author: Amish Tripathi
Genre: Mythology
My Rating: 4.75/5
Summary:
The Ram Chandra Series is a mythological retelling of the Ramayana with a unique, multi-perspective narrative style. It explores the lives of Ram, Sita, and Raavan, portraying them as human beings shaped by destiny, duty, and personal choices. The first three books — Ram: Scion of Ikshvaku, Sita: Warrior of Mithila, and Raavan: Enemy of Aryavarta — follow their individual journeys leading up to the abduction of Sita. The fourth book, War of Lanka, brings their stories together into a gripping conclusion.
The series blends mythology, philosophy, and political intrigue with modern storytelling.
My Thoughts:
The Ram Chandra Series was the second series I read by Amish Tripathi, and I truly loved all the books. The third book, Raavan: Enemy of Aryavarta, especially left a deep impact on me. The backstory Amish gave to Raavan—his personal struggles, family, and pain—really broke me in unexpected ways and made me see the character differently. When War of Lanka was about to release, I pre-ordered it and I’m so proud to own a signed copy by the author. This series is a must-read for anyone who enjoys mythology with emotional depth.
