The Shiva Trilogy (5/5★)
The Shiva Trilogy
Author: Amish Tripathi
Genre: Mythology, Fantasy, Indian Literature
My Rating: 5/5
Summary:
The Shiva Trilogy reimagines the legend of Lord Shiva as a human hero whose karma elevates him to godhood. Set in an ancient, mythological India, the series follows Shiva, a Tibetan tribal leader, as he arrives in Meluha and becomes the Neelkanth, a prophesied savior. Across the three books—The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas, and The Oath of the Vayuputras—Shiva uncovers deep philosophical truths, battles evil, and questions the true nature of good and bad.
The trilogy blends mythology, adventure, and moral complexity, offering a gripping and thoughtful narrative.
My Thoughts:
The Shiva Trilogy was gifted to me by my cousin brother, and it was my very first experience with mythology books. I was never really into mythology before, but Amish Tripathi’s writing completely changed that—he’s honestly one of the best mythology authors I’ve read. The story was gripping and absolutely unputdownable. One scene that stayed with me was in The Secret of the Nagas, when Shiva finds out Ganesha is his son but refuses to accept it. The line “You are not my son” broke me—I cried so much that day. A powerful, unforgettable series.
